Method

  3. Stir in the peppermint extract and sugar or honey, mixing well to combine and infuse the peppermint flavor evenly throughout the hot chocolate.
  4. Remove the saucepan from heat once the mixture is hot and smooth, with no lumps, and the aroma of chocolate and peppermint fills the air.
  5. Pour the hot chocolate into warm mugs, leaving a little space at the top for toppings.
  6. Top each mug generously with whipped cream and sprinkle with crushed peppermint candies for a festive finish.
